2006

here it is- my annual year in review.  lets see what we have...

~some very stupid relationships that, well... failed miserably.  oh well, what can ya do?
~watching jj, sheldon, and sean play their last few duke games.  miss those boys, but the devils are still looking strong.
~hawaii!!!  lots of shit went down, there was drama (not just the 9), but it was so much fun.  love my roomies like whoa!
~finally being done with ap chem and dr daniel!!  although i do miss that class in a weird, massochistic sort of way.
~last years graduation.  suprisingly enough i didnt sob like a baby the whole time.  miss all you guys like crazy, specially cali, danny, and scott.
~rim rock!!  living it up in the jc cabin, being in seneca (the best unit there is), full iming it in the barn, and all the crazy shit we did.  loved every minute of it and i miss all you girlies.  and my sgt. morgan, there isnt a day i dont think about you.
~costa rica with the fam.  lots of fun, some crazy experiences with my aunts.  and yes, steph, you should have been there.
~being a senior!!its a little crazy, but i love it.
~homecoming was tons of fun even if some people apparently temporarily lost their minds.  good times getting ready with my girls.
~marching band. i say it all the time, but those of you rolling your eyes (yes steph, including you) simply dont realize what theyre missing.  we had a lot of rough spots, but we really did pull through it.  thats one thing i know im going to miss most next year.
~working at the barn and getting hurt left and right.  wonderful fun.
~all the college visits, stress, and other nonsense.
~not opening presents twice, but finally revealing the story.  sorry gabs :P.

and so many other little things.  love you guys, hope you have a great new years, and an amazing 2007!

What Kind of Reader Are You?
Your Result: Dedicated Reader

You are always trying to find the time to get back to your book. You are convinced that the world would be a much better place if only everyone read more.

Literate Good Citizen
Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm
Book Snob
Fad Reader
Non-Reader

Thanks for taking the reader quiz. As readers, we know how important it is to figure out what shelf we belong on. Now you know - so go to the library and hang out there.

(i realize most of you dont get this, so dont worry about it.  cnahces are it's not what you think.)

really like this poem.  not gonna lie, i did read it 5 times and wanted to annotate it.  its just so... right.  (past to entries are making me think i should major in english, instead of minor)

The Resolve

My wayward fate I needs must 'plain,
Though bootless be the theme;
I loved, and was beloved again,
Yet all was but a dream:
For, as her love was quickly got,
So it was quickly gone;
No more I'll bask in flame so hot,
But coldly dwell alone.
Not maid more bright than maid was e'er
My fancy shall beguile,
By flattering word, or feigned tear,
By gesture, look, or smile:
No more I'll call the shaft fair shot,
Till it has fairly flown,
Nor scorch me at a flame so hot;
I'll rather freeze alone.
Each ambush'd Cupid I'll defy,
In cheek, or chin, or brow,
And deem the glance of woman's eye
As weak as woman's vow:
I'll lightly hold the lady's heart,
That is but lightly won;
I'll steel my breast to beauty's art,
And learn to live alone.
The flaunting torch soon blazes out,
The diamond's ray abides;
The flame its glory hurls about,
The gem its lustre hides;
Such gem I fondly deem'd was mine,
And glow'd a diamond stone,
But, since each eye may see it shine,
I'll darkling dwell alone.
No waking dream shall tinge my thought
With dyes so bright and vain,
No silken net, so slightly wrought,
Shall tangle me again:
No more I'll pay so dear for wit,
I'll live upon mine own,
Nor shall wild passion trouble it,
I'll rather dwell alone.
And thus I'll hush my heart to rest—
Thy loving labor's lost;
Thou shalt no more be wildly blest,
To be so strangely crost;
The widow'd turtles mateless die,
The phoenix is but one;
They seek no loves, no more will I—
I'll rather dwell alone.
